Tarkington FFA was represented in the second wave of heifers by Lacey Tinney and Makaila Stutts today. They showed their Red Angus heifers this afternoon. Also, Laikyn Rich showed her Simbrah heifer in the Simbrah Superbowl where she was 1st in class and Reserve Junior Champion. Congratulations ladies!

Chloe Jarvis, Tarkington FFA's Chairman's Committee representative, showed her Certified Texas Bred Gilt. Congratulations Chloe!


Tarkington FFA was also represented by Leanna May at the San Antonio Livestock Show today. Leanna and her Red Brangus heifer placed 5th this afternoon.


The Tarkington FFA Heifer show team started the morning off at the San Antonio Livestock Show with a 6th place win for Laikyn Rich. Laikyn shows Miss Ma'am, a Simbrah heifer.


Health Science HOSA students representing THS at the Area 6 competition in its' first year as a club. 99 schools were present, with us being 1:3 3A districts, the remaining all being 5/6A. Congrats to all who participated and a special shout-out to Emma Beaube who placed 1st in Persuasive Writing & Speaking! She has earned a bid to the State competition this March. "HOSA: The heartbeat of a Longhorn."

8th Graders and Parents: Please join us for our Incoming 9th Graders/Elective Fair/ and CTE Night at THS on February 22nd @ 6pm. Incoming 9th graders will receive scheduling information for next year and our CTE Programs of Study will highlight their many accomplishments this school year.


Annabell Lindsey showed her Duroc gilt at the San Antonio Livestock Show today. She is on the Chairman's Committee for Tarkington FFA and represented us well today!



MedTerm students have been studying the pancreas and learned to administer insulin injections today



I am super proud of some of my art students who went on to participate in art categories at the BETA Convention this weekend!
Emma Beaube received second place in onsite painting, Janice Marroquin received fourth place in painting, and Shelbie Chamblee received fifth place in onsite drawing! All three advance to nationals! Way to go girls!

On Thursday, February 2nd from 8:00am to 2:45pm Beta will host a blood drive in the THS Gym. All visitors must check in at the front office. You will need to bring your drivers license and wear a check in badge at all times.
