Dear Tarkington ISD Staff, Students, and Parents,
This notice is to inform you that law enforcement took a student at the high school into custody today following an alleged terroristic threat. As a result, all students were completely safe and secure for the entire school day, and no student or staff member was ever in danger.
Special thanks to Precinct 5 Constable David Hunter and his officers, TISD School Resource officers, and the Liberty County Sheriff's Department for their assistance during this investigation. Law enforcement performed their duties swiftly and efficiently and removed the student in question.
The safety of our students and staff is our highest priority, and we are grateful to local law enforcement for their commitment to our safety as well.
The student will be disciplined in accordance with the TISD Student Code Conduct.
