District Weekly Update 8/31/23

Welcome to Tarkington ISD’s weekly district update ~

The district is closed tomorrow for our first Friday off to start the 4-day school week. Fridays off for students will go through the end of the first semester and then pick back up the last week in January.

We will also be closed this Monday, Sept. 4, in observance of the Labor Day Holiday. Classes will resume at the regular time on Tuesday, Sept. 5.

Tarkington High School’s Curriculum Night is this Tuesday, Sept. 5, from 6 to 7 p.m. This is an important time for families to learn the academic goals and expectations for our high school students.

Progress reports will go home with all students on Thursday, Sept. 7. If you have questions or concerns about your child’s progress report, contact the teacher or campus administrator.

Homecoming Week is set for September 11-15. Be sure to check out the Events section on our website at tarkingtonisd.net for dress up theme days!

Our first Food Truck Friday at the Game will be at tomorrow night’s home game vs. Shepherd. Featured vendors include Gabino’s Woodfired Pizza, Jersey Dogs & Dulce Vida Treats, and Dino Dave’s Shaved Ice. Come for the game – stay for dinner! Kick-off is at 7:30 and the food trucks will start serving at half time. The concession stand will also still be open.
